Had to post

We are at 60 something days...yes I forgot and yes I'm too lazy to count or figure it out!!! But, the reason for this post is because our invitations are OFFICIALLY OUT!!! I was supposed to go on Friday after work but I got caught up and didn't make it in time. So I started handing out the ones over the weekend and then the ones to CA got sent out today. Whew! It was a great feeling and the postal lady gave me the WORST STAMPS EVER!!!! Then she was in a rush to stick them on that she was putting them on upside down and sideways.....egh oh well. I tried not to stress over it and I was just really happy to send them.
In other news, the only major things to do are make some final vendor payments, a couple of DIY projects, programs(which falls into the DIY category) and finish up getting groomsman gifts and OOT bags. I can't believe I'm almost down to the 2 month mark. It's kind of making me anxious that my ticker will say 1 month and something. I'm really excited to see all the family from CA and especially to get back their RSVP's because even though they have bought their plane tickets...it won't actually hit me until they actually send them back and I have them in my hands.
Okay, I gotta go sulk because my Celtics lost! Love ya.

Life told in pics

I'm too late to post a LONG entry so here are come pics I've captured along the way.

My early birthday present. Instead of going to the beach for the weekend, I somehow was talked into buying this AWESOME birthday gift....which Edgar seems to be loving watching sports on. :)

Edgar and I at the Rodeo. My nephew got us FREE Tickets, we couldn't pass it up!

Carlos Mencia at the Rodeo. I have a better pic of him but it's on another camera. Hopefully I get it soon. He was HILARIOUS!!!

My 24th Birthday came and went. Do I feel older? Nah. Have I been driving with an EXPIRED license? Yep! I just realized it was expired and now I have to go tomorrow after work. Augh! The pic is of my lovely Italian Creme cake from the Pecan St. Cafe downtown from my lovely soon to be hubby! :) I <3>

Kevin.Fowler.was.awesome! I literally LOVE the man! Maybe it's cause I'm from the "country" or maybe because I'm just in love with country music...but he really is sooooo goood! The concert was definately worth going too....and not to mention the tickets were FREE! lol Score. My uncle got these tickets from someone and he was too tired to go and offered them to me. YES!

After the Kevin Fowler concert, Edgar and I decided to practice our dancing. I taught him some 2 steppin and he taught me some hardcore mexican dancing! All in all we had a great time and made my Mom and nieces laugh their asses off! :)

Okay, back to business. We started stuffing our invitations! OMG....is this really happening? We are almost at our 100 day mark, which is a big accomplishment coming from like 500+. Edgar's family from California have been calling to let us know they purchased their tickets, and I seem to be happier than him about that! It's just a BIG reality check to think that it's really about to be LESS than 3 months(which means my ticker will say 2 months and some weeks!) and time is just going faster and faster. I still have SOOOO much to do and I really need to dedicate my weekends to doing some of it.

On a MUCH different note. Today could have been my Dad's 54th birthday. It's crazy to think that it's almost 6 years (april 13th) since is passing. I realize life must go on after these things and it's taken me long time to really be able to say that to myself. But, it's crazy to see how fast life really does go by and how you just need to enjoy every minute because you NEVER know when it's going to come to an end. I've had to learn that twice in my life at my very young age and it doesn't get easier with age. Losing my Dad at 18 was VERY hard but losing my sister at 23 was EVEN harder!!!!!!!! I still have yet to figure out why my family? I doubt I'll ever figure it out....

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Well, good thing I've been collecting green things lately, partly because it's my wedding color and I've become attached to it (because it's the color of the lymphoma cancer ribbon and thats the Cancer my sister had before she passed away). I've been missing her like CRAZY lately. It's weird to think of my life now without her, because we had become bestfriends for the last couple of months of her life. I get super sad when I think of my birthday coming up on the 26th and she always always always gave me a card. I remember being like 12 and LOVING *Nsync and she gave me a Justin Timberlake card that said Happy Birthday. That was like the.best.card.ever!! lol Oh well.
I've been enjoying Spring Break. The weather is wonderful! Much better than Friday when it was cold and rainy. Now it's in the high 70's & 80's and it's just GREAT!!! I bought some bermuda shorts from Target yesterday only to realize they weren't "me" and I returned them today. I took my nieces out to lunch instead. It was a good treat for us all. My Mom is adding another room and bathroom to the back of the house so I've been overseeing all the transactions and making sure she isn't getting screwed over. Granted-it's my uncle doing it, but my Mom is such a trusting person I would hate for her to get screwed.

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary with the Charger. I loved it then and I love it still! I'm surprised it's been a year already!!! This was the day we bought it.
Ha, granted it's my car now! Edgar is in the process of buying my Mom's Honda Civic. I'm happy he let me claim the charger. It's amazing and I love everything about it. Here's one more pic....Yesterday we met with the priest. A couple of months ago we went over to the Church and took a 140 questonnaire that was just basically if we agreed/disagreed/or were uncertain. We went over it yesterady and only "missed" 4 questions. It was good to see how well we knew each other and how much we actually talked about throughout our relationship. The priest was pretty impressed. We then set the rehearsal date and time up. We are doing the rehearsal the Thursday before the wedding at 7 PM. I figured if we did it on Thursday then on Friday we can have a dinner, instead of everyone trying to rush and squeeze everything in one day. Plus-it makes all of FI's family that are in the wedding come an extra day earlier. :)

I need to get motivated and finish the following things:
  1. Addresses for invitations.
  2. Table Runners. I've completed 1/28!
  3. Buy more vases.
  4. Buy stamps for invitations.
  5. Begin program layout.
  6. Bouts for the GM's and the flowers for the ladies and Padrinos for the wedding.

Thursday we have a meeting with the lady at the hall where the reception is going to be held and we will be going over the layout of the tables and chairs. That way I know exactly how many runners/centerpieces/and anything else I need! I will also do a table mock-up of my "vision" as to what my wedding will look like. Hopefully I don't do a re-vision afterwards! :)

Puttin' Along...

I really need a kick in my @$$ to stop putting wedding checks on the back burner! We have met with the priest at our Church and we put it down in the books...so I am OFFICIALLY a July 11, 2009 bride! I can't stop smiling when I think about it all. The wedding will be at 2 P.M. The only thing I was thinking about falling through, was when we finally got to talk to the priest, that my date was going to be taken. Oh well it didn't happen that way, and I'm excited!

Today I went to David's Bridal with one of my BM's. We've been best friends since 1st grade and I sometimes regret not asking her to be my MOH. Instead I asked my 2 sisters, because I thought that is what I was supposed to do. I do love my sisters, but they haven't helped one bit!

I thought I would be the type of bride that was going to let my BM's choose the dress they want. I wasn't (still am not) good at making decisions as big as wedding decisions. I thought I would just tell them the color & length of their dress, but after going to David's Bridal and realizing there are MANY different types of black (fabrics) and different "tea" length dresses....I figured I would let them know the exact dress. This is the dress I chose for them...

I sent them an e-mail letting them know I would like them to try this dress on in mid-November. I'm giving them Until Feb 11th to order their dress. The sales consultant let me know it would be about 6-8 weeks for the dresses to come in after ordering them. This will place the time frame around late march or early april. Which in turn, will allow them about 4 months for alterations. I let them know they are $135 and I have a $20 gift cert. for them to use and any black shoes would be fine. I am getting them to let me know if they are going to want their hair done. I'm going to ask the lady that is doing my hair to give me a range for up do's and down do's. Hopefully, she will give us a deal if a lot of us want them done.

These are my wedding shoes that I chose today at DB~~~~~~>>>>

They are SUPER comfortable, and I would have NEVER decided to choose these. The only reason I did is cuz my BM wanted to try on some heels with the dresses she was modeling for our BM dresses. I chose these for her and she raved about how comfortable they were. When I put them on, I was sold!

I have also went ahead and printed out some of my invitations. Here is a pic of them. I also have a spanish version that will go out to FI's family, but I don't have a pic of that yet.

I really need to go through all of my wedding things and organize, and make a list of things I still need and things I have that maybe I can get rid of. There are sooo many things left to do. Until later, tata!
