98...The countdown continues

Okay so this morning I went to work and left early because I wasn't feeling good. I came home and slept until 3!!! Woke up and noone was home. I was bored all day!!!! Got NOTHING wedding related done, unless you want to include a "mini-breakdown".

I think the stress is really starting to get to me. I feel like I'm doing it all by myself. I'm trying to talk to my Sister, which happens to be my MOH, and it's like she doesn't care or changes the subject when I say anything about the wedding. It's hard to get Edgar involved with his work schedule, which he was supposed to switch the days back in February and they said now not until April 23rd! I just can't seem to get myself in gear. We'll pray for tomorrow to get something done.

I need to put my gym membership to use....and NOW! I make too many excuses and I'm getting sick of it. Augh. Time to go. Oh yea. Tuesday Edgar and I are taking his little bro, which is in 3rd grade, to see wrestling. We bought tickets 2 months ago and decided we would surprise him if he passed his TAKS. Turns out he did! We were really excited because he's usually in bilingual classes and this is the 1st year he's been in mostly english classes. He took the TAKS in English and passed it! He still doesn't know and he won't until Tuesday when Edgar picks him up from school. It's exciting! Oh yeah, Friday we are off school for Good Friday....can't wait.

My 24th Birthday came and went. Do I feel older? Nah. Have I been driving with an EXPIRED license? Yep! I just realized it was expired and now I have to go tomorrow after work. Augh! The pic is of my lovely Italian Creme cake from the Pecan St. Cafe downtown from my lovely soon to be hubby! :) I <3>

Kevin.Fowler.was.awesome! I literally LOVE the man! Maybe it's cause I'm from the "country" or maybe because I'm just in love with country music...but he really is sooooo goood! The concert was definately worth going too....and not to mention the tickets were FREE! lol Score. My uncle got these tickets from someone and he was too tired to go and offered them to me. YES!

After the Kevin Fowler concert, Edgar and I decided to practice our dancing. I taught him some 2 steppin and he taught me some hardcore mexican dancing! All in all we had a great time and made my Mom and nieces laugh their asses off! :)

Okay, back to business. We started stuffing our invitations! OMG....is this really happening? We are almost at our 100 day mark, which is a big accomplishment coming from like 500+. Edgar's family from California have been calling to let us know they purchased their tickets, and I seem to be happier than him about that! It's just a BIG reality check to think that it's really about to be LESS than 3 months(which means my ticker will say 2 months and some weeks!) and time is just going faster and faster. I still have SOOOO much to do and I really need to dedicate my weekends to doing some of it.

On a MUCH different note. Today could have been my Dad's 54th birthday. It's crazy to think that it's almost 6 years (april 13th) since is passing. I realize life must go on after these things and it's taken me long time to really be able to say that to myself. But, it's crazy to see how fast life really does go by and how you just need to enjoy every minute because you NEVER know when it's going to come to an end. I've had to learn that twice in my life at my very young age and it doesn't get easier with age. Losing my Dad at 18 was VERY hard but losing my sister at 23 was EVEN harder!!!!!!!! I still have yet to figure out why my family? I doubt I'll ever figure it out....

Valentines Day

Wahoo! It's Valentine's day & Edgar's 23rd B-day!!! What better way to celebrate than to both be WORKING! :) Yea, it sucks but what can we do? I have yet to get him anything, because we said we would be low-key this year because of the wedding. Valentine's Day isn't really big in our relationship anyway, because of his B-day, so no V-day present and yes on the B-day present. I think he's leaning towards wanting another hat. I realized he is addicted to hats like I am purses/shoes/clothes/wedding stuff! HAHA
With the 5 month mark 3 days ago, my life has been hit with OMG I can't believe all this I still have to do. Also, there's so many new things popping into my life all at once. I never would have imagined I would be this busy and still need to do soooooooo many wedding things. I once thought I was ahead in the game, then time just started flying by and now I feel like I'm behind! I'm sure it's just me that thinks this-because I am pretty sure I'm not behind.....but I always like to be 2 steps ahead of everything. I am behind in a sense that I haven't picked my DJ or Photographer. BUT, I know who I want for my photographer and if she's still available when I'm ready to book her, then she was meant to shoot my wedding! lol I'm taking a HUGE risk though.
My Sister-In-Law was on her way to work on Wednesday and she got rear ended. She refused medical attention but then when she got to work her back and neck started to hurt so she went in to get checked out. They told her she was fine but SURPRISE YOUR PREGNANT! lol So, that was a major schock. They got married in Nov. '07 and have been trying since, so we knew it could happen.....but it wasn't expected.
After work this is what I hope to accomplish.

• Go Meet Edgar for our Valentines/Birthday Lunch.
• Pay some bills
• Go to shoe carnival for their $5 shoes!
• Get Edgar a b-day cake for when he gets home.
• Look at fabric for the table runners.
• Get my ribbon for my invitations.

Hopefully I accomplish everything, but right now I have to go and deliver snacks!

Vendor Check!

Okay, well I'm a little late on this entry because I've actually been busy for once!
Wednesday we went and had our tasting with a potential caterer. It went awesome! We found this lady at a flea market here, a place called the Crockett Center. Originally I found her because I was looking for a photographer and she had a photographer/videographer package. Then when we started talking to her she said her husband did catering. Anyway-we went and he had us a dish waiting. We were surprised because we thought we were just going to meet them and talk prices....and try to work out a deal. :) So we looked at their menu-like 11 different types of dishes they do. We picked (and luckily it was what he had made us!) a chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella cheese and ham covered in alfredo sauce, vegetables, fettuchini(SP?) alfredo, a roll, salad, and it came with a fruit bar. The fruit bar comes with, grapes, pinepples, cantoloupe, strawberries, kiwis, and a chocolate fountain. Also, the provide fruit punch (in a fountain also) with the plates for the fruit bar and the cups. They also are providing us utensils for dinner and plates for the food. We opted to rent out 4 servers to pass out food and pick up the eaten plates. Anyway, all of that food before for only $8.50 PER PERSON!!!!! It's amazing. All of my Austin knotties/bloggers-----if you're interested I will give you the contact info. The food was DELICIOUS. I will post a pic later, I'm at work and the picture is on my home computer.
Tonight no big plans. Just working out and trying to find Edgar's Keys!!!! The only key we have to the honda is on there, so the honda is not driveable right now! I know-that's what we get for not having an extra key but it's my mom's old car and my brother had/has the extra set and he can't find them right now. Which means he will NEVER find them. Also, the key to the Charger is on there. Now that one I'm kind of upset about because the dealership told us it would be like over $200 to replace that key! Sooo....unless I want to fork out over $200 for a new key to the Charger, I'm going to rip my room apart.
Tomorrow is Saturday School tutoring. So, work from 7:45-around 12:30. Afterwards I'm going home to work out and then my SIL is supposed to come over. I haven't decided what I wanted to work on for the wedding....but hopefully I decide by tonight so I can make sure I have everything we need.
I'm sleepy...I need 2:45 to come fast!!!!!

Augh! Talk about irritating....

Last night I stayed up until about 12:15 watching the beginning of Saw V with Edgar-just knowing school would be cancelled today! I should have known better-as I sit at work on my school computer writing this blog! I was so excited to have heard my phone go off this morning...only to realize it was my 6 AM alarm. I turned on the TV hoping to see a delay in the start time-***** ISD WILL BEGIN AT NORMAL TIME! AUGH----Oh well! Then to top it off I only live like 3-4 miles away from my work but it involves getting on a highway. It took me literally 40 minutes to move 2.5 miles!!!! Come on.....that was very frustrating.
So that's my B&M for the start of the day.

Let's back up a little:

Last night was our 2/4 marriage classes at the Diocese of Austin. Last night went better than last week. We enjoyed it. Also, yesterday we went to work out at the gym, which was fun. I'm not sore today like I thought I would be. We only stayed for like 40 minutes because we had to leave to our classes-but it was better than nothing. After our classes we went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries. I found ALOT of good things(it didn't help that I was hungry) and I plan to start eating a little healthier....aka less eating out. :) We also scoped out the TV's and the wall mount to put our new and UNpurchased TV when we get our new and UNleased Apartment! :) Ohhhh the dreams we wish to accomplish. Just as long as we stay on track with the bills, we should be able to move out soon. I was thinking and I kind of don't want to move out because then (yes this may sound bridezillaish of me) 1. I would purchase everything we registered for to be able to actually live comfortably in the apartment or 2. we would have to live in an empty apartment and hope that when the showers come around people actually get what we asked for on our registry.

Today I stay until 4:20 for after school tutoring. Then Edgar and I will go to the gym and work out for at least an hour. We will wait for his parents to get off work so we can go meet with the caterer lady....you know the one we couldn't get ahold of 2 weeks ago....yea her. She also is going to tell us how much it would be to add in a photography/videography package. As much as I want a videographer.....we'll see if I like the "package" deal she will be giving us. I'll update on that either tonight or tomorrow.

I guess I better get ready to go and pick up my students.

Man, I have this headache that just won't go away! Why me? Why, why, why! I just know it's allergies, and the weatherman confirmed it when I heard him say "Cedar is the highest it's been in Austin in quite sometime!" Augh-and it doesn't help with you have barking dogs and loud TV's.

Today was pretty uneventful. I just worked and came home at 5:30. Edgar went to go play Basketball, which left me to be able to take a nap without him complaining. I've been knotting/searching/myspacing & facebooking all day! lol Call me lame but it's just one of those days.

Thank goodness tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!!! I actually get off at 2:45. If only I can make it to work on time tomorrow! My ass better wake up at 5:50 when my alarm goes off, rather than 6:30.....knowing I'm supposed to be at work at 6:45. :) Good thing the principals aren't really strict and I only live about 7 minutes away from work.

I don't know exactly what's on my "TO-DO" list for this weekend. I will probably make more pomander balls for the Church because I still have 11 more. I will make 1 full invitation and go get it weighed at the post office. I think I need to fold my programs and attach the front design. Possibly start making the inside layout of the program. Who knows...I'm just talking out of my ass right now! lol I'm delirious. (SP?)

Where a kid can be a kid...

I got off work at 4:30 and picked Edgar up. We went to the gym to get a membership, but low and behold they ran out!?!? We then went to look for more apartments. I believe we found the ones we are going to move in. Now if only I can just reassure myself a 2nd or 3rd floor apartment will be good for us (minus the groceries!). Not only can we get about $75 bucks off rent-including the discount from me working for the school district-it will be a good "getting in shape" method.


The apartments are brand new and I am really looking forward to them having a brand new unit by the time Edgar and I are ready to move out. Before we move out I'm making sure any big things...well the 2 big things we're paying for....are paid. We are just paying for the hall and photographer. According to our list....we will pay for it by March 15th (or when I get paid in March). I'm making sure I'm writing down things we need to pay on certain days, so when that day comes I have no excuse but to pay them. We'll see how good it works.

I'm getting excited just thinking about finally moving out on our own. It will be REALLY nice to get an apartment noone has ever lived in and make it our own. We will probably go with a 1 bedroom for now and either move up to a 2 bedroom or just end up getting a house after a year. I think an apartment is the best way to start instead of just jumping into being a homeowner(Even though it sounds nice!). I want ALL new furniture...which shouldn't be too bad considering the only things we really own are 2 beds, our TV, computer, printers, and uhh....I think that's it. :) Oh well!

The only one...

Okay so as I sit here bored waiting for the kids to get out of recess I tend to look through all my blogster friends. I believe I am the ONLY person that didn't blog about yesterdays events. Which leads me to my next statement!

• WHY THE HELL NOT?!?!?!

Okay-Granted yesterday I did have somewhat of a busy day. I took Edgar to work-so I could pick him up after work because he didn't want to drive himself to our lovely marriage class (To be talked about later). I then came to work-late! I did my lovely morning cafeteria duty and then went outside in the freezing wind to do my parking lot/cross walk duty. Went about my school day as normal as possible. Watched the TV like a hawk. Had my 2nd graders watch it. They were sooo attentive and quiet it was amazing! A teachers every wish. It was just awesome. Just watching President Obama walk out for the first time really touched me. I began to get teary eyed and it was just a remarkable feeling. My kids cheered- as did the whole school! America will see great things with this wonderful Man, now if I only I can convince my 18 yr old nephew of it! :)

I went home and had a huge headache but was still glued to the TV and internet for all types of articles and pictures. I managed to fall asleep for about 30 minutes and woke up to pick Edgar up from work. We then grabbed a bite from Jack in the Box and proceeded to our lovely marriage class! That was just.....no words can explain it. There were plenty of couples, but I couldn't really get into anything. Although, our 1 challenge was to pray with each other. I think it's a lovely idea. Now, how do I get Edgar into thinking so. Which means, we have 1 class down 3 more to go. Edgar was laughing at me because the minute I sat down I began scanning the room....and I said "I wonder how many girls are in here that are on the knot!?!" He looked at me like he couldn't believe the words that came out of my mouth. Ahhh....men!

We went home and I cut out our sponsor letters, put them in envelopes and filled out the front of the envelope. Now they're on my "office" desk. I call it my office-but really it's just the corner where my computer and all things wedding are located! They are nicely stacked ready to be handed out. Edgar got ahold of his Cousin in California yesterday which is a nice plus for him because I Didn't have to hound him to do so! His cousin is generous enough to send us $250 for our wedding!!! It's going straight to the hall.

I have still yet made my decision about the photographer. To videographer or not to videographer is the question....... Egh----time will tell I suppose.

Checks & Back to Work

Okay, well it was back to work today! Yes, let's moan together in unison.....AAAAUUUUUUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I felt that way when I hit the snooze button twice. I would have done it the usual 4 times, BUT, I didn't want to be late the first day back. Tomorrow morning might be another story. Although, I had the BIGGEST headache going back to work with all those crazy, loud, kids-I came home and slept for 3 1/2 hours!!! Man, did it feel good. I woke up just in time to realize "OH SHIT - We have that meeting with the photograher!!!" Whoops-I had just enough time to stuff my face with something to eat and then head out to meet Charlotte with number9photography.

She was absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We walked in and wasn't expecting a young fun outgoing lady sitting there. She had to have been about my age or maybe a little older. We talked about the package that she has to offer. That in itself sold me. She offers SO much for so little that it was just absolutely perfect. I am a bride on a budget, but I really wanted nice, awesome pics to show our special day. I was beginning to get nervous because it felt like we were NEVER going to find someone we liked.....much less afford. I stumbled across her website on Craig's List and immediately sent an e-mail. This was back in like uhmm...July or August. She wasn't one to say...."Oh you're getting married in July....like a year away July?" I didn't really set up an appointment with her, and really forgot about her. I was going through my e-mail inbox and came across her message again. I contacted her and it was probably the best wedding decision EVER! This is what she has to offer:

The best thing she told us was that she would probably take around 2,000 pics and we get every single one of them on the dvd! I'm excited to just spend hours scanning through them. :)

I also got an e-mail from the Cake Lady that we wanted to go with but never sent our deposit in on time. She said as long as we get the deposit in by January 15th she will still keep the old prices. I also wanted to just drop the Grooms cake and just get our regular wedding cake and she said that was fine as well. We're still deciding if we want the Groom's cake or if We want Amy's ice cream. I think the ice cream would be a cute Austin-y touch. We'll see.

Edgar actually did some checks as well-which surprised the crap out of me! He called his Aunt and asked her about our wedding rings that they are paying for. He also called his other Aunt and Cousin that are paying for our cake, and they said they would let us know when they would be able to send the money so we can pay for the cake. Then, he called his Aunt and Uncle that are going to be our witnesses at the church and are paying for the Church and they will be sending that money our way. It's excited to see everything beginnning to come together!

Stressing Out

Okay, so I've been looking at SOO many bios on the knot and It's driving me completely insane! I've been stressing out because I don't think my wedding is going to come together like it should. I've been really second guessing myself with all my choices and how things will look and even if I should just give up on what I'm doing and start over with a wedding planner. Realistically, a wedding planner isn't in the budget, but if it means I can stop going crazy I will make a couple of notches here and there. I'm probably just talking just to talk because I don't think I could ever give all of this power away to someone else to do...I think it would stress me out more! I've been trying to just narrow all of my wedding planning activities to Sundays....but I find that lately I've been itching to do things during the week and really REALLY anticipating Sundays. I missed last Sunday because I was SUPER busy doing other things, and it just really feels like I'm just behind now. I have so many projects that are floating around the house (and I'm sure my Mom is getting tired of having things everywhere!) so I think I just need to gather everything, and do one project at a time.

On a side note, I had 2 cake tastings this week. The first one was a place out in Cedar Park and when we arrived (3 min early), she was in the back with her headphones on doing whatever she was doing and didn't realize we were there until about 15 min later. We then had to wait for her to get off the phone, get our tasting, and find a pen and SCRATCH paper to write on. I felt a little uneasy there and Edgar was just lost the whole time. I went in open minded not knowing what designs I wanted or how many tiers. I wanted to see the different options, and while she was really just telling us what she was going to do instead of asking us....we left LOVING her cakes but not really loving her style of business. She didn't give us a quote (told me she was going to e-mail me & 2 days later still nothing), no design or anything that we decided on, and didn't really give Edgar an option on his grooms cake. The 2nd place was a little further of a drive, out in Kyle, Texas. We didn't mind driving because it was still pretty early during the day, so we didnt hit any traffic or anything. We got there this time 15 minutes early and she was waiting there for us. We actually got greeted walking in the door and our tastings were ready. She sat us down with some photo albums and then we ate and looked while she was taking care of something in the back. About 10 minutes later she came back and I still had no idea what I was looking for. She walked us through EVERYTHING from the amount of servings we should get, to the shape of each tier, designs on the tier, cake flavors, icing flavors, cake topper, and she even gave me advice of when to tell my vendors to be at the reception site. With Edgar, he got to actually choose everything, she walked him through different types of groomscakes she has done before, and the style, and flavors of everything. He came out less confused as the day before and HE was the one that told me to stop booking tastings, and she was going to be our cake maker!

My cake will be 4 tiers, I chose Vanilla Cake with strawberry filling and white buttercream icing. I will be providing her with the ribbon(lime green) and she will be doing a different design on each tier. The top tier(which she provided for free!!) will have the 3 dots connected with each other pattern, the 2nd tier will have a "P" and some scrolling, the 3rd tier will just have a 1 dot pattern, and the 3rd tier will be another type of curvy design. It will serve 180 guests. Edgar's cake is going to be an Igloo Ice Chest and she will have rock candy at the top airbrushed to look like ice and of course he will have beer in there. We haven't decided if he will do the aluminum(because their not as heavy as regular bottles) budlight lime, or if he will have a mixture. He will be providing her with the bottles (prob about 6 or so), and there will be some in the inside and there will be some coming out on the sides. It's going to look so cute, I can't wait! Oh yea, his will serve 100.

I also went to Hobby Lobby to get a type of hole puncher for my favor tags, so when I get my camera from the car later, I will do a blog about my new semi DIY project! I also bought some lime green bags from knottie TDiddy so I'm waiting for those to come in.
